untless studies show that children today are in worse shape than in any other time in recent history. Educational programs designed to increase knowledge and appreciation of the impact of exercise on overall health are virtually non-existent in schools today. Parents, physicians, teachers, and health care professionals have been largely ineffective in their attempts to promote youth fitness.
